Bologna Hosts Scientology Volunteer Ministers Exhibition

Volunteer Ministers Open Their Yellow Tent in Bologna

Bologna's Piazza Lucio Dalla is hosting the travelling yellow tent of the Volunteer Ministers of Scientology, as part of a travelling programme visiting Italian cities.

Approximately 100 guests were present for the opening, including representatives of communities assisted by Volunteer Ministers after natural disasters.

Among them was Pianoro Mayor Luca Vecchiettini, who recalled the assistance provided following the 2024 floods. Restaurateur Fabrizio Lazzarini also recalled the Volunteer Ministers helping his business recover after the flooding.

Andrea Ferrarini, formerly involved with civil protection in disaster response Bondeno, recalled Volunteer Ministers helping communities following the 2012 Emilia earthquake.

The Volunteer Ministers programme was established in 1976 by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology, the programme offers practical tools for communication, relationships and problem-solving alongside humanitarian response.

Inside the Bologna tent, visitors can explore photographic exhibits and information about the programme while learning about methods addressing communication, education, relationships and everyday challenges.

Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, described the Bologna initiative as an example of practical solidarity and civic responsibility.

The initiative brings together memories of disaster response with methods intended to help people handle everyday difficulties.
